The band is super excited to be a part of Fringe Wold Festival again this year with two sparkly shows! Fever: The Music of Peggy Lee is making a (hopefully) triumphant return, and Swing Revue rears its manic head again this year with special guests Cottontail Trio, Ali Bodycoat, Libby Hammer and Ricki Malet! We’re excited to be doing some new repertoire (think: Ella and Louis duets and some sweet Benny Goodman), our gig list has all the dates if you want to join us!
Friends, fans and assorted members of the press gallery, we’re excited to be playing our first show at The Ellington THIS SATURDAY, April 12th.
Tickets available here.
We have special guest James Cross playing trombone with us and we have not one, but TWO secret guests who will be performing with us on the night!*
We would love to see you there!
*Special guest hint: They might be in matching dresses. Or at least colour co-ordinated. They will probably also have spent at least 10 minutes perfecting their winged eyeliner. It’s going to be a good show, kids.
Fringe time is nearly here and The Darling Buds are happy to say that we are performing tomorrow night at the opening of Fringe World 2014!
You can buy tickets to our amazing show The Swing Revue here.
We have 6 nights of the show, but only the first two will feature the beautiful Honeysuckle Roses on authentic jazz dancin’ feet and a secret surprise (not-that-secret-hush-pretend-we-didn’t-say-anything) dance troupe who will be performing some spectacular Lindy Hop for you!
If you would like a discounted ticket, just sign up to our mailing list and we’ll email you out the Mates Rates code.
We are also debuting our fresh (so fresh we don’t have it yet) CD, ‘It’s a Sin To Tell a Lie’, so come down Friday or Saturday to the Perth Cultural Centre this weekend and get your fill of amazing dancing, special guests Harry Deluxe, Libby Hammer, Adam Hall and The Cottontail Trio, and all of the ridiculous antics we can fit into one air-conditioned, close-to-public-transport (and it has its own bar) tent!
See you there!
If you’ve had a squizz at the West Magazine today, you will have seen Jessie’s face giving you a cheeky wink to get you through the day.
For more cheekiness and general silliness, you can come to our big Fringe World show called The Swing Revue! It features shenanigans from some of Perth’s best jazz vocalists and entertainers, including Adam Hall, Libby Hammer, Harry Deluxe and The Cottontail Trio.
We have 6 nights of shows, starting January 24th (on Fringe opening night!), and you can get your tickets here.
If you’re a special DBoM fan, shoot us through an email, promise undying love/support/your first born child (actually, you can keep the kid, we’ll settle for chocolate and your presence on our mailing list) and we might just send you our Mates Rates code.
Happy new year everybody and welcome to our new website! Please be patient as we upload all the existing information from our previous site to this one and try to iron out the bugs. We have some very exciting shows coming up in the new year that you will definitely not want to miss!
The first show coming up is the Summer Swing Smackdown on the 18th of January at the State Theatre Centre. An amazing ‘in the round’ style show featuring four incredible bands – Libby Hammer with her Hammer Nine, Ensemble Formidable, Lucky Seven from Adelaide and your very own Darling Buds. Set in the courtyard the bands will face off in a band for band style competition with each band in it’s own corner. An incredible unique event that is definitely not to be missed! Tickets can be purchased from here.
The Swing Revue is back in 2014 Fringe Festival with more dancing and more singing and more silliness on MORE NIGHTS! We have six (6, VI, SIX!) whole nights of mayhem and we’d love to have you there. Join us on Jan 24 and 25 at the Circus Tent or Feb 15, 16, 20, 21 at the De Parel Speigeltent in the Urban Orchard! Tickets can be purchased here.
